Climbing at Ralph Stover State Park - October 7, 2001

We had been climbing on Obnoxious Partner, and started chatting with the guy next to us who had set up Phone Booth. We swapped top ropes and discovered he was "Johnnyontherocks" from gunks.com. Had a good day chatting and thrashing on the top ropes.

Obnoxious Partner (5.8+ G ***) 45 feet. Climb the conspicuous overhanging fist crack. Tricky, strenuous and extremely popular.
Pumpy!!! Done on top-rope with Ethan. Neither of us did it cleanly the first time.
Phone Booth (5.10a TR ***) Begin on a ledge below the right edge of the overhanging buttress (Var. 1). Climb the left side of the edge until you can angle left into the Phone Booth alcove then continue up a corner on the right to the top.
Var. 1 (direct start): 5.10c - Start 6 feet left of the edge and pull the ceiling direct.
I could barely get up this climb 1 year ago. I was very excited to flash it this time! We both tried the 5.10c variation and couldn't make it past the first couple of holds.
