Between the cliffs of Potero Chico and the campground of Rancho Cerro Gordo is the brilliantly located Checo's restaurant.
After a day of climbing, you'll find Checo's packed with climbers from all over the world. The food is delicious and cooked to order by Checo and his wife, so don't expect fast service. Just use the nice bathrooms with running water to freshen up, help yourself to a beer in the cooler and circle what you want to order on the little checklist Checo will hand you. No need to speak Spanish if you can't. Checo knows a little bit of English, but the checklist makes it easy. He is very friendly and sweet. Beer and food are very cheap and you can mingle with the climbers and get good beta on what you want to climb.
Checo's also has casitas to rent if you want nicer accomodations down there than camping.
Note that Checo's is closed on Tuesday - market day in Hidalgo.
