Another weekend away at the YMHA Jewish Family Camp weekend in Milford, PA. The weather didn't completely cooperate, we drove through the rain to get there and the morning was pretty damp and the camp was muddy. The rain came and went, never quite a downpour, but certainly unpredictable enough to cancel some activities (we brought our bicycles up and never got to use them).
The girls had camp in the mornings without us, we enjoyed the yoga classes and canoeing around the lake. The highlight of the weekend was the ropes course, as usual. Jasmine did not only the long zip line across the lake, but did just about every other activity on the ropes course. We were very excited that Ariel did the zip line for the first time. She is so tiny that they had to put a hat on under her helmet so it would stay on. She made me very proud - on the "broken bridge" and the zip line, she confidently climbed up the telephone pole, with a huge smile the whole way up, and didn't show her usual trepidation at the height. For the zip, she barely hesitated - when she was given the OK, she squiggled her tushie off the platform at the top of the telephone pole and took off on her 15-17 second ride across the lake. The crowd cheered her on, finding it amazing that a child that little would be so brave. It was very exciting!
Although the girls didn't sign up for the talent show, there was a lull in the program where many attendees weren't there yet, so Ariel ran up there to show how loudly she could "click" with her tongue. Just did one click with a big smile and left the stage. Very cute. She was happily clicking the whole way home.
Despite the rain, the weekend was another success.
