Thanks for all your suggestions!
- I go to Brian at Antonios for the Ouidad cut. I've been
doing Ouidad in the city since 1994 and switched when she trained
people at Antonios in
Livingston.
- I did used to get my hair colored there, but they did a terrible
job. I
now go to Dea and Subway Salon in Millburn. She is wonderful.
- I have curly hair and I go to Antonio's in Livingston. They
use the Ouidad
method, which basically changed my life! I used to blow my hair
straight
until I went there, and now I feel very comfortable leaving it curly...

If that link doesn't work just go to www.ouidad.com.
I don't have my hair colored but I'm sure they have good colorists, or
you
could go to subway for the color, which I hear is the best for that.
- Antonio's in Livingston, 973-994-0796. One of the owners,
Brian, does the Ouidad haircut and they are looking to train some other
hairstylist with the Ouidad technique too. I use him to cut my
hair and soften it.
- I go to Maria at Trendz hair salon in Florham park. I have
a girlfriend who
has lived in the area for a long time, and she has been going to Maria
for
about 20 years. When I moved to the area, my girlfriend
recommended her to
me, and I've now been to her three times. She does my color and
highlights,
as well as cuts. I think she is very good at the coloring and
highlights,
and pretty good at the cuts. As you know may know, I have very
curly hair,
although I often wear it straight. Good luck.
- Hi Robin, until recently I had also been "hanging on" to my
hairstylist
in NYC. I've finally made the big move to NJ and go to Omara (as
mentioned below) from Subway Salon. I think she's excellent and have
recommended friends to her who agree. Hope this helps. Pam
